our ?top? story this morning-- the walworth county fair will reopen today.... after a security scare forced organizers to shut it down ?early? last night. night.thousands of people were cleared from the fairgrounds around 9 o'clock. o'clock.cbs 58's julie parise is live in the newsroom with that story.julie? a captain with the elkhorn police department tells us a suspicious looking pipe was brought to the attention of fair security last night --just a few hours before the end of the fair. it turns out -- it was just a pair of drum sticks. the kenosha county sheriff's office bomb squad was called in to help with the investigation. the walworth county sheriff's office and the elkhorn police worked the fair board to clear fair goers from the grounds.the all clear was given after 10 -- the board decided ?not? to reopen the fair for the remaining 45 minutes. one fair vendor tells us he's impressed with w well everything was handled by police. there was a lot of concern but in terms of panic or chaos

robinson attacked the woman last summer after she got off a bus on milwaukee's north side.the 29 year old pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree sexual assault. robinson is facing up to 80 years in prison but may only get a quarter of that time. milwaukee's common council has not yet voted on a new ?public safety? action plan for the city.but that won't stop a local group from making their voices heard about the issue at a meeting this morning. morning.13-18 "i can tell u right now i can drive around the city for two hours and never see a cop the common councis public safety committee estioning sheriff david clark and other government leaders at special etingsthroughouthe summer... as they continue to try and come up with recomendations for reforms. possible solutions include increasing officers on the street.. more time behind bars for offenders.. and so-called boot camps for at-risk youth. a group called "uplifting black liberation and community" plans to voice its concerns this morning at the

and a hotel shuttle bus. it happened near logan international airport in boston yesterday. state police say it aears the car exited a tunnel and rearnded the hampton inn shuttle bus. the collision caused the shuttle to hit a side barrier ...and that's when two people were thrown out and pronounced dead at the scene. three other le on the shuttle -- the driver and two other passengers -- have non-life threatening injuries.the shuttle ?has? seat belts... but it's unclear if the riders were using them. two young girls are dead after the vehicle their mother was driving crashed into a river in california. 3the crash happened yesterday. officials say the victims were seven and nine.their mother was able to escape uninjured. the girls were trapped inside the car...but poli say no car seats were found in the vehicle after it was recovered. police are investigating the wreck as a case of distracted driving.no charges have been filed. one person is de.. after plarasht the "bentonville rport" in arkansas.

shod and ends up costing y a lot more than you bargain for. herb cooper was at homen a recent sunday when the bogus roofers showed upto his house. they toe ld himhad a hole on his roof -- and they would fix it for a hundred bucks. cooper accepted -- and when he went to t the cash, one of the guys asked use the bathroom. cooper says that man ended up stealing 900 dollars from hima police officer says a lot of times these scammers use fake identities. accused of sexually assaulting two young girls in sheboygan- will learn his fate in court to. today.clayton michener is charged with 1st and 2nd degree child sex assault. according to his criminal complaint... the victims were 12 and 15 years old....and at least one of the incidents happened side t church. micher will be in court at threthisfternoon for his sentencing hearing. now to a cbs 58 update--- police say... three milwaukee men are now charged with a bank robbery? in elm grove. grove.the robbery happened back in february.?one? of the investigating with the fbi to get all three under arrest.as you may recall...the robbery happened at the t-c-f bank. one of the suspects, robert crumble junior, was arrested soon after the crime. but it took investigators months to track down the other two suspects. london johnson is the accused getaway driver... and police say elijah mcgee, stormed e bank with a shotgun 3 packers fans can breathe a little easier this morning. the f-l hacleared clay matthews and julius peppers.
